I always wanted to take my grand pa for a film with me. But I was always scared of many things. Firstly, is there a movie of his type, will he like these generation films, that also in a theater. In PVR there isn't Staircase, will he be fine with the Three escalators? This was when I was going for 'Avatar' but since it was 3-D, i thought that might give him headache. So went with friends.
Finally after a month, I had to spend hours to convince him to come with me. I asked my mom to force him, Finally I called up my Aunt at Nashik to convince him to come.As it is I was going to take him by hook or crook. Because I know its Now Or Never. We always want to do many things in life, but at the same time, take time for granted and believe we can do it later, but often its late then.
Eventually he agreed to come with me. I had removed Tickets for a Marathi film, I hardly see Marathi films, but this one was a recommendation from one of my student and I found the Title strange "Shikshanacha Aicha Gho" . And Often I like strange things. I also asked one of my other friend to join me at theater.
Luckily, the film was at the closest theater to my home, a walk of 7 minutes.
So we left for the show, my neighbors wondered where am I going with my grandpa or where grandpa is going and for heavens with a deadly character like me? After fourteen years, we both were going to see a film together.
On the way I wondered, if the film isn't nice, my grandpa will surely never come with me again, but at the same time I believed it to be a good film.
The film was sensitive, could make a tear roll down your cheek and make you smile too. A film based on the weird Education System of India, and how students bear the burden of it. A great film to challenge the Educational system and thought provoking to parents.I loved it, so did my grand pa.
We always go for films and dinner with our friends. But with time I have realized that our parents, family whom we always take for granted are the ones who have always been with us in our worst times. They have supported us and bore our tantrums.
Yet we hardly spend quality time with them.
It's just a film, but taking grandpa, makes it special and memorable. It gives him immense happiness and joy to me.These are small acts of Love, not always necessary to show it but if you can, then why not.
Make your closed ones realize that they are special.
After that you realize, how special it is. If it wasn't I wouldn't be writing a blog for such a simple topic. Its become Special now.
