When I look back at my school days, I can finally relax, chill out and scream "Thank god, Maths is out of my life" From Vth std I slogged till the Xth just to solve out sums, which in no way has helped me out till today. But had given me mental pressure in school days for sure. The time I spent for solving out sums which i never took interest in, definitely could have been worth if I could read Shakespeare, Folktales, Literature or even Ethics which I love the most.
I always used to wonder in my childhood how is trignometry and Polynomials going to help me, when im simply going to add, subtract, divide and multiply, if i ever use Maths.
So is that I wasted all my time? Or always my rank went down bacause of Maths?
Or is it something wrong with the Education system, where students are forced to study what they dont require?
Its not my allergy for Mathematics thats making me write on this particular topic, but its my stuudents problems and my childhood friends issues, thats prompted me to think over it.
Education is not securing highest marks, being the first in class and finally after a year you dont remember what you studied. Education isn't a matter of percentage for Board exams, and a degree for job. Rather Education is the knowledge that you receive, treasure it with you and apply that knowledge in the right situation to make life better. Education's purpose is to let you realize the power of flight and teach you to fly.
Education should be liked, enjoyed, studied and revised. Education shouldn't force poor students to commit suicides. Education shouldn't pressurize students in life to earn but rather to learn.
We study not to earn but to learn.
When we are learned we become earned automatically.
It isnt necesarry to completely byheart the text book, but it is imporatnt to understand the contents of textbook and be able to explain it in simple language. Also to use that knowledge at right moments.
School and College lectures are bunked by students, not because they hate studies but most often the teachers dont make the lessons interesting. If the teacher teaches with care and concern , getting to level of maturity of students, then students will understand the lesson, develop an interest and so will respect the tecaher with love.
Let the teachers make subjects interesting.
In our education system, often the syllabus is sad and useless, compared to the other topics that should be covered and given priority.
Also the media is to be blamed, where television and films are directing the young minds on the wrong path, and corrupting their thoughts.
In Hinduism, Saraswati is the goddess of Knowledge. She is dressed in white symbolising purity, with a royal swan, which can seperate milk from water, potraying prudence beahviour. Saraswati is the wife of Brahma, who is god of creator and the creator should possses knowledge for the power od creating, therefore she is his consort.
In the same way, Education should be pure crystal clear, helping us to distinguish between correct and incorrect, and giving us the ability to create or use that knowledge for making life better.
Every year people only pass out......................... but do they really pass in life.
I spent lot of time with maths, but finally when i passed out with distinction, I took Arts, what I likeD the most and Im happy studying Sociology today.
But how many people do really study what they want to study, or just study forcibly what their parents want them to study?
How many of us take degrees to learn more, or earn more in life?
How many of us think of people and the world before choosing a carrer or subject in college?
Is Education serving its purpose?
I guess all are baffled in this circus going around, which people term as practical world. People choose to study what would give them status but not staisfaction, and give them big fat salaries but not happiness.
If education had served its purpose, then there wont be so many confused minds.
Gather knowledge because it sets you free. Study to be free birds on a tree.
